Our client, a publicly traded REIT, wishes to hire a lawyer with at least a dozen years' experience handling commercial real estate transactions to join their team in Manhattan.
The successful candidate will lead, manage, and scale a leasing group of roughly half a dozen lawyers and business professionals in administering workflow for a portfolio of over 70 properties.
They will report directly to the GC and also enjoy significant face time with the C-suite, working to make sure that processes run smoothly at a senior level.
Required Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor from an accredited law school;
- admitted and in good standing to the New York and/or New Jersey bar (or eligibility to waive in);
- at least twelve (but a preference for 15) years’ relevant experience at a top law firm or in-house (some experience at an AmLaw-ranked firm strongly preferred);
- deep working knowledge of real estate transactional law;
- experience leading deals involving retail leasing, commercial development and redevelopment, acquisitions and dispositions, and financing;
- familiarity with property management and landlord-tenant issues;
- strong business judgment and interpersonal skills;
- ability to manage multiple concurrent projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines;
- comfort working with cross-functional teams;
- excellent written and verbal communication, negotiation, and presentation skills; and
- strong attention to detail.
